The Pembroke took over 6–7 Grosvenor Place, an 1860s mansion that was once the home of a prime minister and later a women's club, and opens in autumn 2026 at 50,000 square feet; in September, by Vogue's account, though its own website still says this autumn. It is meant as a St James's club with the volume turned up: more than 500 works of art on the walls, a games room after Alice in Wonderland, a martini served at minus 21.
There is a fusion restaurant, a dining room, a greasy spoon called Rollo's and a library bar; Emie's, the nightclub on the fourth floor, dances until 3am, and Monty's above it looks over the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Unlike St James's, there are rooms where a laptop is welcome.
What sets it apart
- Brand new: opening in autumn 2026, so still filling up
- The largest here by far, and a whole night out within one building: eat, drink and dance without leaving the house
- Applications are open, without a proposer; the form asks for your humour
- A mix of ages by design: the committee runs from 24 to 70
